After making a long list of your friends and your family, throwing a few home meetings and going to your 47th hotel briefing, you’re still frustrated. You’re making less sales in Network Marketing than I went on dates in high school (and trust me, that’s bad) - so what are you doing wrong? Haven’t you committed 100%? Why is it that no matter what guru you follow - you still wind up broke?
Three Ways of Thinking…
First, we need to briefly touch on what it is you’re actually selling. (After all, it’s hard to sell something when you don’t really know what it is - isn’t it?)

There are three different products you can focus on selling in your business. (I know, I know, you have ‘50 products’ or whatever - just hear me out).
The first product that you can market in your MLM is your actual company product. This is the realm of more than 80% of MLM distributors - attempting to make sales by talking about how ‘exciting’ their new magic lotion is. Now I don’t want you to misunderstand - I like magic lotion as much as the next guy. You could replace the term ‘magic lotion’ with any of the other myriad of products that are sold in the MLM profession.
The bad part about running all over the universe promoting your product wherever you can is that you’re probably not making very much money doing it, are you? I know, there was that one guy who your friend Bill knew who knew a gal named Susan who had an uncle who got rich wearing a shirt that said ‘I swam naked in algae’ - but is it working for you?
The second way of making MLM Sales is promoting your opportunity as the vehicle to riches. As they say in Amway ’sell the dream’. One of the most challenging things someone could ever do is to invite all of your friends, family, neighbors, and relatives to your home and ‘pull out the white board.’
It would be easier to send a manned mission to Mars… (Kidding) - I’m being serious here. And I’m not saying this as someone who has never been successful doing this, either - I built an organization of more than 1000 people part time doing nothing but home meetings. You know what though? It was a pain in the rear.
Every night, every week, and every month of a previously enjoyed life was replaced with endless meetings, 3 way calls, and hotel briefings. I didn’t even go on any dates during this time.
…I suppose I never dated much anyways, to be fair.
Yeah, I made a lot of money doing it - so what? I could make a lot of money working all day and night as a MD, too - and you know what? I would rather be poor and spend my nights with my wife.
So if you take away the products, and you take away the opportunity - what is there left to sell?

Now it’s funny that everyone knows that the players in MLM all are shameless self promoters - but what has stopped you from doing it in your own business? Is it because you feel that you have to make a lot of money first?
Is it so shocking after all to learn that you are in reality an extraordinary individual, and that there are hoards of people who would be willing to follow you if you would just stand up and be a leader?
Would it flip your world so upside down if you stopped listening to tapes, books, and CDs - and instead started making and promoting your own?
Would it cause such a rift in your world view to learn that you can just let go of all of the training, courses, and books you’ve read, listened to, and attended over the years - and just be YOU?
When all is said and done - there is only one thing that you have to master to be a master of this profession - and that is…
